Inbound Quality Control Specialist

Our Product Performance Teams are responsible for ensuring Wayfair is delivering the products customers expect, every time.  One major priority we have is in Product Performance, where we strive to drastically reduce the number of problems that arise as a product makes its way to the customer’s home. We want to reduce “customer incidents” to near-zero levels – whether they are damages, defects, lost items, missing parts, etc. – to provide the best customer experience possible and further fuel Wayfair’s growth and profitability. This challenge is one of the most business critical, technically complex and interconnected challenges we face.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of Wayfair’s Distribution Center inbound quality activities across regional sites
  • Act as a subject matter expert, coordinating standardization and continuous improvement activities
  • Be a resource for all the QC departments (associates, leads, supervisors and site leadership) within the region
  • Ensure product is flagged, diverted and inspected and that all results are captured accurately
  • Monitor inbound volume for each site and ensure appropriate product is getting flagged systemically, with communication to local stakeholders as required
  • Gather accurate data, including Pass/Fail scans and Failure Forms
  • Coordinate training of all Supervisors, Leads and Associates for the QC departments
  • Drive continuous improvement activities for QC departments, including idea gathering from all team members and identifying opportunities
  • Develop project plans and lead implementation of initiatives then monitor results to adjust
  • Support and help define roll out of QC initiatives throughout Fulfillment Centers
  • Support site leadership and QC departments with inbound forecasting, level of effort, workflow layout and SOP adherence
  • Communicate closely with Supplier Account Managers to root cause, isolate and escalate quality issues.
  • Assist in executing pilot tests for broader Product Performance team members based off site and work with boarder QC team throughout the region

What You'll Need

  • 1+ years' experience in a Warehouse/DC environment
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders and influence
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Experience supporting and working with remote stakeholders
  • Experience with SQL
