Senior Analyst, Transportation Finance

The Transportation Finance team thrives to improve transportation cost efficiency within Wayfair Delivery Network (WDN) through working closely with Transportation Planning/Execution, Carrier Strategy & Management and Transportation Procurement to identify improvement opportunities and to translate operational efforts into financial impacts. The team aims to provide visibility to the past, the present, and the future of transportation spend and unlock best in class transportation efficiency at Wayfair.

What You'll Do

  • Design performance metrics and develop models to track financial and operational performance of various transportation services used within Wayfair
  • Track real-time and report on weekly spend and financial impact of changes to the network
  • Conduct analyses that help define and drive transportation strategies Partner with business stakeholders to validate hypotheses, monitor the success/performance of pilots, and build business cases and execution plan with financial forecast for initiatives within Transportation
  • Provide narratives to monthly/quarterly financial reviews for internal stakeholders and/or external investors
  • Translate high-level business problems into more specific questions that can be answered through data analyses; leverage analytical findings to identify actionable business recommendations
  • Provide insights/supports to monitor and make actionable recommendations to improve data integrity for long-term automation of supply chain optimization

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (business, math, economics, statistics, physics etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in data analytics and/or other modeling
  • Possess an affinity for data and resourcefulness in obtaining data when clean, complete information is not available
  • Strong quantitative skills – ability to develop analytical methodologies and assumptions, use data software to conduct the analyses, and synthesize findings
  • Ability to learn and act quickly, make decisions and draw conclusions in the face of ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills – ability to succinctly summarize and share results with key stakeholders
  • Technical in nature; Advanced Excel skills and prior experience in SQL
