Inventory Control Supervisor

The Inventory Control (IC) Supervisor’s prime objective is to ensure the inventory integrity of the warehouse.  The IC Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining established metrics, auditing operational processes, monitoring inventory integrity, and overseeing all work performed by the Inventory Control team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervising the functions and working of the inventory control employees
  • Supervising proper shift allocations and ensuring efficiency of all warehouse staff
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy levels through daily/quarterly cycle counts
  • Conducting thorough analysis of, monitoring, and reporting of cycle count information to detect any trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Investigate inventory errors, identify root causes and work with peers and senior leadership to develop solid and practical solutions
  • Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices for inventory handling in all warehouse departments through training and feedback.
  • Working closely with CastleGate, Warehouse Ops, and teams necessary to ensure the timely completion of ticket requests
  • Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources
  • Ensuring that all assigned daily, weekly, and monthly metrics are within established parameters
  • Be a professional, accurate, and available resource to all departments


  • An ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate necessary information in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in management, administration, supply chain, customer service preferred, or five years working experience in product distribution to customer base
  • Exceptional time-management and decision making ability with an analytical thought process
  • A strong ability to plan and organize effectively
  • High computer aptitude with proficiency working with Excel, Outlook, Skype, and very familiar with WMS applications
  • Ability to effectively coordinate operations with internal as well as external workers of the company
  • Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related warehouse activities (such as MSDS, Equipment checklist, evacuations, safety protocols, etc.)
  • A strong candidate will possess the ability to train, motivate, and effectively coach others
  • Flexibility with work schedule as business needs demand
