Software Engineer III (Operational Engineering/SCS Core)
Software Engineer III (Operational Engineering/SCS Core) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to Build and maintain core inventory service for all Wayfair brands; ingest real-time inventory feeds from suppliers; develop business rules to prevent out of stock backorders; populate distributed caches in three regional data centers; manage production support responsibilities; participate in technical reviews of project deliverables including requirement specifications, technical designs, and project documentation; write well-structured code in C#, .NET, PHP, and optimized SQL queries; produce reports and communicate status to project stakeholders in daily SCRUM and weekly sprint meetings; mentor junior developers and new peers; perform code review and testing; and monitor systems health as part of critical rotation team. Requires: Master's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years' experience performing analysis, design, development, and maintenance of EDI and EAI applications or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years' experience performing analysis, design, development, and maintenance of EDI and EAI applications. One year of experience must include: Creating strategic roadmaps for EDI development and implementation and managing implementation against deadlines and milestones; Leading executive-level communications with multiple stakeholders regarding strategic alignment and project status updates; Leading cross functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and other specialists throughout EDI and EAI design and development process; Developing business cases and financial strategy for product development, including defining business goals, creating execution steps, and analyzing business return; Interfacing with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, engineers, operations and UX developers; Performing experimental design and hypothesis testing including A/B testing and User Acceptance Testing; Overseeing the delivery of EDI solutions, driving technical architecture definition, and maintaining the platforms utilized in the organization; Manage, develop, and maintain EDI processes, systems implementation, application configuration, data integration, prototyping, testing, and training; Migrating a traditional EDI in-house environment to outsourced services; and Leading efforts for continuous improvement, process automation, and enterprise EDI integration within and outside the organization.
