Job Description

Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (WMS Fulfillment Execution) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to develop and maintain user interface applications for internal teams to manage and maintain fulfillment of customer orders and inbound stocking orders in all warehouses; work with various Supply Chain Engineering teams to develop user friendly, efficient, and scalable improvements to warehouse workflows; develop and maintain batched and real-time backend processes regulating internal and external factors of warehouse order lifecycles; initiate enhancements and stability upgrades for current system; review code and architecture for multiple repositories including PHP and SQL; support and develop systems to stabilize processes and ensure accuracy in inventory positions; and lead, mentor, and guide junior team members.

Requires: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years' experience performing PHP, JavaScript, and SQL design and development or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years' experience performing PHP, JavaScript, and SQL design and development. One year of experience must include: Performing web development using PHP, JavaScript and SQL, and designing back-end applications using PHP; Performing version control using GIT, and utilizing Jenkins and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; Performing design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications; Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; Developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Defining test plans and performing unit testing; Performing SQL database development including designing, queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; Performing full-stack web programming using PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, Mustache and Handlebars; and Utilizing the ELK stack to monitor application systems.
