Software Architect- Test Enablement
Wayfair’s founders, Steve Conine and Niraj Shah, kick-started their careers as engineers-turned-entrepreneurs, growing an e-commerce business over several years with an exceptional mission: Everyone should live in a home they love. Our Software Engineering organization drives this by finding real-world solutions to complex business challenges facing customers and stakeholders every day. Our global teams move fast, build to scale, and approach each opportunity with agility and creativity.
From Marketing Engineering and Proprietary Logistics, to Development Platforms and Infrastructure Engineering, we leverage open source technology to create our own platforms and tools. Our continuous deployment environment promotes frequent releases to production. We build our market share by providing innovative, technical solutions for our customer’s needs and by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement – all while growing our revenue over $5+ billion.
As a founder-led company with a global footprint, we continue to look for pragmatic, innovative problem solvers to join our Engineering team. If you are truly passionate about technology and can move across the stack to craft solutions for customers, this role may be for you.
How will you be challenged?
Our goal is to make software development at Wayfair a delightful experience by focusing engineering effort on what matters most, resulting in incredibly high velocity. This team impacts over a thousand engineers company-wide and maintains relationships with dozens of engineering teams. We work to build tools, systems, and automation to eliminate toil, make quality the default, and scale development activities to help Wayfair reach for the stars.
Test Enablement will take a multi-faceted approach to maximizing engineering potential. We will focus on Education, by establishing a dedicated team educating the organization on our tools, standards, best practice, and automation. Next, we will have an SDeT team focused on enabling development teams to own their own quality, perform test and risk assessments, remediate test technical debt, and write test automation. And lastly, we will focus on enablement and developing the tools, frameworks, and environments that provide a delightfully simple and fast testing ecosystem that is powerful enough to solve Wayfair’s unique complex testing problems.

- Participate in team strategy, roadmap definition, and planning/design phases
- Lead team/project discussions, presenting Test perspective and recommendations
