Job Description

Strategy Manager - Imagery & Media

The Visualization team is a new and rapidly growing team at Wayfair, working on highly visible projects and driving innovation daily.

Traditionally consumers shop their home in-person, preferring to “see, touch, and feel”. Wayfair breaks this mold with a new world of visual immersion that aims to not only match but eclipse the brick & mortar shopping experience. The Visualization team drives how we use rich visuals and engaging media to inform, inspire, and educate our customers throughout the funnel - implementing new approaches and technologies to anticipate her needs and make her feel right at home without leaving home.

This individual will be critical to the team’s ability to deliver a “best-in-class” customer experience across our entire product catalog and to scale at a rapid pace.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help clarify long-term vision for how we use imagery and media to educate and inform customers
  • Define imagery and media standards for key brands, stores, and product classes

  • Develop hypotheses and work with Product and Engineering partners to construct testing plans
  • Analyze test results to inform decisions and make trade-offs
  • Set key roadmap initiatives and milestones
  • Examine current workflows and processes to uncover inefficiencies and integrate improvements
  • Work with Product and Engineering partners to define infrastructure requirements
  • Consult with internal cross functional partners on the design and build of key workflow tools
  • Ask hard questions and challenge boundaries
  • Work against a timeline to drive key milestones to completion, and communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Desire to develop as a manager of people as the team is growing and there is the opportunity for strong performers to have a management role

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree, with strong academic record
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Desire to work in a rapid pace environment with a lot of high level visibility
  • People-oriented, positive and energetic attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Highly collaborative
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Comfort in a data-driven business environment
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Positive “can-do” attitude and a sense of humor
  • Willingness to challenge boundaries and test new ideas
  • Desire to work in a rapid pace environment with a lot of high level visibility
  • Derive energy from change; it’s a constant on the team as we grow and evolve
  • Prior experience working with imagery and media is preferred but not required
