Job Description

Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (Operational Engineering/ SCP S&OP) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to design, develop, and implement supply chain planning systems using the following frameworks and tools: React.js, GraphQL, PHP MVC, GIT, GitLab, Artifactory, SolarWind, Grafana, and Kibana. Utilize multiple languages including JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Python, Shell Script, HTML, and CSS. Run agile and two week sprints; work with stakeholders to understand business needs, and define systems to meet those needs; define long term roadmap to achieve design and implementation of robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions; lead the development of junior engineers through guidance on design and architecture, test automation, and code reviews; and perform root cause analysis to resolve software errors.

Requires: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years of experience designing distributed systems for supply chain management applications or, alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years of experience designing distributed systems for supply chain management applications. One year of experience must include: Performing scripting using Python and Shell scripting, and performing version control using GIT; Performing design and develop full stack applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications, and designing back-end applications using MVC with object oriented languages such as PHP, Java, and C# ; Developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Defining test plans and performing unit testing; Performing SQL database development including designing, queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; Utilizing Jenkins and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into technical software design; Performing full-stack front-end web programming using JavaScript, JQuery, Redact.js, GraphQL, Mustache and Handlebars; Performing data ETL in MSSQL and MySQL environments, and analyzing, troubleshooting and tuning SQL Server replication; and Scripting using Transact SQL and PowerShell, and performance tuning in MSSQL and MySQL environments.
